My review: Simply put, this blush is awesome.
This powder blush really gave me a shock. I was expecting a typical cheap blush with average quality. Let me tell you, the quality of this blush compact is VERY nice. This is my first Nyx blush and I’m very pleased with the quality.
The powder is silky smooth and incredibly pigmented. All of the powders blend very easily so you can swirl your brush into the entire compact, or create custom shades. It’s beautiful. Lastly, the blush itself lasts the entire day on my skin. I have oily skin and constantly blot my face throughout the day. I also always touch my face to check and feel how shiny my face may be. The fact that it can last an entire day through all of the things I do to my face is impressive!
The powder itself is very compact but at the same time it’s, well, powdery. There’s the tiniest bit of excess loose powder when you run your brush on this blush, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. That’s what powder is and that’s what powder does, even when it’s compacted.
The number of color options this compact gives you is 120 different blush/highlight choices! No, I’m not even kidding. It really is 120 different shades. However, it’s not as impressive of a number as it sounds because most of the shades you create will be EXTREMELY similar to one another. Still, that’s quite the steal for only $7.00. The compact is large enough that you could pat your brush into every blush color individually. That alone gives you four separate blush options. If you swirl your brush into the entire compact, that gives you five. Then you can mix and match any two colors, any three colors, or any four colors.
With that being said, I would definitely recommend the Nyx Mosaic Powder Blush to anyone of any skin color. You can control the intensity of the blush color, you can customize your blush shade, and you can use these compacts for more than blush. My personal one, Paradise, is both a blush and a highlighter. If I were into pink shadows, this could easily triple as an eye shadow as well. Other Mosaic Blush Compacts may have deeper colors/browns that you could use as contour for the face and eyes as well as blush. I think if you surprised someone with a Nyx Mosaic Blush, whoever is receiving it would probably love whatever shade you choose for them and would actually use it… unless it’s orange. Not everyone likes orange. In any case, I think this is well worth a shot.
Overall, this blush is fantastic. It gives you a healthy looking glow, the compact is nice and sleek, you have a huge variety of color options to play with, and each compact is versatile (blush, eyeshadow, highlight for eyes, lips, and face, and contour for face and eyes). The powder is silky smooth, it’s pigmented, and blends like a dream. There’s nothing about this product that I dislike. : )
The top shade is the center highlight, the next shade is the top right pink color, the third shade is the bottom right light pink color, the fourth shade is the bottom left melon pink, and the fifth shade is the top left dark pink.
All of the blush colors blended in.
