Starlooks Lip Liner
Top line is swatched, bottom line is blended.
Product claims and description: Starlooks’ long-lasting, full-coverage Lip Pencil enhances the shape of your lips and gives them perfect definition. This creamy, moisturizing formula glides on softly to smooth lips and ensure lipstick stays in place, while extending its wear. Can also be used as an all-over, highly-pigmented lip color. Comes in several shades and various finishes to pair with any Starlooks Lipstick, Lip Gloss, or Tendergloss! Starlooks Makeup Line is entirely Lead Free, and Cruelty Free.
Texture & application: This is a super smooth, blendable, and creamy lip liner. When applied, this glides on evenly with zero tugging on the lips.
Pigmentation: Super pigmented!
Performance: Very nice! It’s long lasting, helps lipstick stay on lips with the perfect shape, and the lip liner stays on the lips if you use a gloss (if the gloss fades off, the lip liner will stay put so you can top it off with a fresh coat of gloss with no worries.)
Is it worth buying?: Heck yes it is! I’ve tried several lip liners and I’ve hated almost all of them. $12.00 (full price) is fairly reasonable to have an outstanding lip liner, especially if you’re new to lip liners like I am. This blends out beautifully so you can get your desired opacity of color. Keep it soft or make it bright. I love it and will definitely be getting more. If you buy it now using the code “IPSY”, you get 35% off of your order. : )
My opinion: I really like this lip liner. This came with the Ipsy June 2013 bag so I definitely wouldn’t have picked a color like this out on my own. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I honestly thought all of the colors Ipsy sent out were going to look horrendous on my skin tone, but it turned out to be perfectly wearable. I thought the colors would make me look like Nikki Minaj just based off of the pencil colors (Tipsy, Bare, Tickle Me Pink).
I’m actually quite new to lip liners and have only worn it a few times. A majority of my lip liners came from Ulta (hated them), some from Prestige (just okay), some from Rimmel (just okay), one from Lancome (awesome), and one is from the e.l.f studio line (loved it). I didn’t really care for the color on it’s own since it was too far out of my comfort zone (I like nudes, burgundy. mauve, and purple-y colors). To make this a little more suited to my tastes, I used e.l.f’s studio lip liner in Wine to line my lips. Then I filled it in with Starlook’s Tickle Me Pink. Then I used the blending brush on the e.l.f lip liner to diffuse the colors and blend them together. Then I topped it off with a lipstick color I actually liked, which for me was Prestige Classic Lipstick in Lolita (lavender mauve pink color).
