Intense Volume, Curled Lashes.
Get your star lash look with the new dual-sided brush.
Lashes are enhanced with a liner effect, looking thick at the lashline, long and luscious through the tips.
Overview: This mascara is very intriguing with its “tree shaped” brush. Lancôme considers this to be a dual-sided brush because when you hold the brush one way, you can use the “tree” side or “flat” side of the brush to get volume and definition. Then you turn it to the side (the “round” side of the brush) and apply again for length and separation.
Does the brush make a difference?: Absolutely. The brush is quite large so you get a lot of product on it. Because of this, I think it makes the lashes look bigger.
How’s the scent?: Terrible. I hate it. It smells like normal mascaras but twice as strong. It hits me in the nose as soon as I take the brush out and move it up to my eye to apply.
Pigmentation?: SUPER BLACK. I have black eyelashes to begin with but this mascara will still make your eyelashes pop.
Can this mascara hold a curl?: Kind of. It can hold a curl but the curl falls by the end of the day. But my personal opinion on mascaras for curled lashes is just to buy a waterproof mascara. I’ve never had a waterproof mascara that didn’t hold a curl.
Does this volumize the lashes?: It volumized my lashes A LOT.
Does this make the lashes appear thicker?: Yes. But in a semi-clumpy kind of way. It doesn’t look natural. It just looks like you applied a lot of product, which in reality, you probably will end up doing.
Does this separate the lashes?: Hardly. As I said before, the brush is large and holds a lot of product. The amount of product applied to the lashes makes it quite clumpy if you need a second coat. I have to take a plastic wand from another mascara to separate the lashes and take away the clumps. I use the wands from Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara or Covergirl Lash Blast.
Does this lengthen the lashes?: It sure does!
Does it wash off easily?: Yes. It’s fairly easy to take this mascara off.
Whom would I recommend this to?: Honestly, I’d recommend this mascara to anyone. If you have short lashes, I think this will be great. If you wear fake lashes, this should be great. If you have long lashes, you’ll have to be patient, but it’ll be great.
Is it worth the price?: No. Big time no. This mascara is unique, works nicely if you can figure it out, and has great packaging, but $28.00? C’mon. That’s crazy. I love this mascara but I’d never buy this at that price. I say try to hunt for this mascara as a free gift with purchase. I received 2 deluxe sized mascaras in large sample bags from Sephora (10 high end deluxe sized items + bag with every $25.00 spent online). I wouldn’t suggest buying it for full price if you can avoid it. There’s only two high end mascaras that I think are worth the full price – The Balm’s Body Building Mascara, and Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara. Those two mascaras create some sexy eyelashes that look like false lashes with only 1 dip of the brush per eye.
Is this a good mascara?: Yes and no. I didn’t like this mascara at first because the formula was very watery. Since I have long eyelashes, I was pretty irritated because the mascara took a while to dry and it was tough trying to keep my eyes slightly open and have the product transfer. If you have short lashes, I’d imagine this would be a great mascara for you to use. This would also be good if you wear false lashes a lot. A watery formula means you can build up the mascara and fix any clumping. It also means you can do a single coat to get the color and still have it look like normal lashes. I had to let this mascara dry to a slightly thicker consistency before I was able to use it properly. Now that it’s a little bit thicker, I absolutely love this mascara. But now that it’s a little thicker, it applies thicker and makes my lashes clumpy if I want to use a second coat.
