Hello lovelies! This is a tag that is popular on YouTube. The purpose of this post is to shine some light on cheap products ($10.00 or under each) with amazing qualities. All of the prices given below are the full price value of the item. Often times, you can find the items below even cheaper than what is listed. The pictures used below are either taken directly from brand name websites or taken with my phone.
1.) E.L.F Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in Turks & Caicos ($3.00) – This baby right here is a holy grail item for me. It’s a staple in my everyday makeup routine no matter what look I choose to do for the day. The bronzer is a MUST for medium-deep skin tones (Nc). It’s a little awkward because it’s a brown-red color, but it still makes a great natural looking contour! The bronzer looks great when worn alone as well (it can work as a deep colored blush that contours), and looks great with the pink blush provided in the compact as well. This compact is worth it even if you’re buying it for just the blush side or the bronzer side.
2.) Jordana’s Fabuliner ($1.99) – There’s nothing to dislike about this eyeliner. It’s pigmented, the pen is great, the formula is great, the pen lasts a really long time, it doesn’t smudge easily after it sets (I only use it on the upper lash line for cat eyes though), and the felt tip doesn’t lose its shape regardless of how long I use it. I’ve been using mine for over 2 months on an almost daily basis and the felt tip is still as precise as day one.
3.) Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation ($7.29) – Everybody with oily skin should give this a try! Well, that is if you can find a shade match. The only bummer about this foundation is that it only comes in 10 shades. If you can find a color match, this foundation is great! It definitely lasts through an entire day and does a great job at keeping oil under control. It’s medium-full coverage, applies smoothly and evenly, has a healthy looking demi-matte finish, and comes in a nice squeeze tube that shows the actual product color.
4.) E.L.F Studio Flat Top Powder Brush ($3.00) – I love this brush so much that I own over 10 of these. It may seem obsessive to many, but I have my reasons. It does a great job at applying blush. It’s great for contouring. It’s great for adding powder. It’s great for adding a highlight to your face. It’s great for applying foundation. That’s already five brushes needed for five different products. The extra brushes are mainly used as backups for foundation. It’s affordable enough to buy enough brushes to last me weeks before needing to wash them. I like to keep a 3-4 week supply of Flat Tops around, haha.
E.l.f often has studio products at 50% off online, so I usually get these brushes for $1.50 each. At that price, why wouldn’t I want as many as I own? $15.00 for ten brushes? Sounds good to me! Beats paying $15.00 just for one anywhere else.
The bristles are synthetic and soft, the brush is dense, the weight is nice, and the actual appearance is beautiful and sleek. The only flaw to this brush is the hit or miss quality. If you get a brush that is made properly, this brush will last for years. Sometimes you may get a brush that isn’t glued properly or sheds, which would make the brush less desirable. The “shedders” are what I use for powder makeup.
5.) The Body Shop’s Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream 0.5fl oz ($4.00) – At least 98% natural! That is the reason why I love this. It’s a nice little tube that comes with a pump. The cream is thick but it applies nicely and soaks into the skin within a minute.
6.) Secret Outlast Anti-antiperspirant Clear Gel ($4.99) – Can I get a hallelujah!? I’m a girl who needs a lot of protection when it comes to sweat. I usually use Dove Invisible Solid Deodorant which smells nice, but it doesn’t do the job. I have to reapply at least once throughout the day. But what can I expect? Dove Deodorant is usually around $2/stick. This Secret Outlast Deodorant blew my mind away. I can apply this at the beginning of the day and smell great at the end of the day after going through a 12 hour work day, or even when I come back from the gym. I don’t need to reapply this deodorant anytime throughout the day because it really does last! It’s actually so great that my boyfriend will hide my deodorant and keep it for himself, hehe. It’s pricey for a deodorant, but it’s a miracle product.
7.) Victoria’s Secret Mini Body Sprays ($10.00) – $10.00 is a lot to spend on a 2.5 fluid ounce body spray, but these body sprays will last a while! They are really strong. Definitely stronger than the Fantasies line.
I honestly think these are the better investment compared to the EDP version of the fragrance. You can use an extra spray or two of the mist each time compared to the perfume and it will be very comparable to the $50.00+ bottles of perfume in the same fragrance! If the mini mist lasts 6-8 hours, why wouldn’t I just get that? That’s the scent life of a department store perfume.
I currently own two sets of perfumes/sprays. I have Incredible in EDP and mist, and I also have Simply Gorgeous in EDP and mist. The only differences I can tell are that I get more use from a body mist, and I can throw my plastic bottles around more than I can do with glass perfume bottles. I’m also not afraid to use up my body mists simply because they’re more affordable to replace.
8.) Crystal Collagen Eye Masks (approximately $0.75 per pair) – These are just gel-type pads that go under the eye that are saturated in a collagen liquid. All you need to do is apply this to the under eye area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Every time I use these eye masks, my eyes feel soothed and refreshed. The only place that I know to buy it from is eBay. They usually sell them in bundles of 5 for $3-4. Always check to see that the seller is +98.0% reputable, and then go check why their reputation isn’t 100%. Sometimes customers are jerks and leave negative feedback for their own mistakes, which unfairly lowers a sellers score.
9.) Zoya Nail Polish Spring Collection in Gie Gie ($8.00) – This was a product I received in my May Ipsy Glam Bag. I’m not a nail polish person but this one was really pretty. It’s a soft, shimmery baby pink that applies a little sheer. It’s a perfect color for those training themselves to not bite their nails. The color is too pretty to nibble at and the color is wearable for anybody of any skin tone. The color is sheer enough that it could go with any outfit. In my opinion, it’s the next most wearable look next to a classic french manicure – great for work and for a normal life.
10.) Macadamia Natural Oil 6 Piece Sampler Sachet ($2.95) – This little sachet sample kit is AMAZING. You get six amazing products at such a cheap price. Here’s the best part, if you order a single sachet, the shipping is free! At least for me it is. I order a new sachet every 3-4 weeks. I get 2-4 uses out of almost all of the sample packets. Things like the conditioner and hair masque only need to be used once every week or so. The sample macadamia hair oil packet gives me about 10-15 uses. I only need a couple of drops for the miracle to work.
