To start off, I would like to let you know that you can click on all of the photos for a large and close up view of the colors.
This was my first time purchasing from Coastal Scents and overall, I’m happy with the purchase. I purchased six hot pots for $0.95 each and four samples of the mineral eyeshadows at $0.49 each. I also signed up for the first time and received an additional $1.50 off of my total purchase. The cost for all of this with shipping was less than $10.00. They also included a free mini eyeshadow quad. The colors they gave are very pretty and wearable, so I really appreciate the nice gift. They also gave a bumper sticker and packed everything into a little black mesh bag with a ribbon.
I made my order on Saturday and received my package on Thursday. They work Mon-Fri so it took 4 days total to process the order and ship. Not bad, especially considering they’re in FL and I’m in WA.
I really love the quality of the hot pots. They are super smooth and really pigmented. They were also packed to the top, which was surprising considering the price. I’ve only owned E.l.f pan shadows; and E.l.f packs their pans a little above halfway, and their shadows are also super powdery. The hot pots were much better quality than I was expecting. None of these shadows were chalky or crumbled when I used my brush or finger.
On top of that, they have mineral shadow samples for $0.49 each. Whoever measured out the samples did a terrible job. The color I wanted most fills about 15% of the container while the other three shades I purchased were over halfway full. The samples are supposed to contain a teaspoon of the mineral shadow, but it looks like Daydream only got 1/4 of a teaspoon, if even that. If it weren’t for the $1.50 discount I received, I’d be upset.
Regardless of that little mishap, I’m very impressed with the mineral eyeshadows. They’re SUPER shimmery and iridescent. I tried to take pictures but they were so shimmery that it just looked like silver, blue-violet, or gold sparkles. A photo without flash did the shadows no justice. The only thing I don’t like about the samples are the pots they come in. The lids are so hard to take off, and that’s really dangerous if there’s a powder inside. I honestly would have preferred the shadows to have come in a zip-lock bag. The bright side is that each little pot was secured in a tiny zip-lock bag and I’ll be dumping the mineral shadows into the zip-lock bags.
