On 10.8.13, I had my fourth laser hair appointment. You can check out the previous blogs here.
Last time I ended up with burns on my face. I had a new aesthetician this time and I really didn’t like her. My last asthetician explained why the laser burned my skin so I tested the knowledge of the new asthetician by asking her if she knew what happened. She told me she didn’t know. She just apologized and turned the setting on the laser down. She didn’t even tell me until after the treatment was done that she turned the settings down. She also didn’t treat my face as thoroughly as the previous asthetician did.
I’m actually REALLY mad because I felt that the fourth session was completely wasted. It didn’t feel like any of the hair was treated. I couldn’t feel the laser on my face during the treatment and I noticed my hair growing normally in the few spots that still grow hair. She completely skipped the lower lip and didn’t do a good job on my upper lip. I even told her that I know she missed some spots but she insisted she did treat the areas.
It’s easy to tell if an area has been treated. My upper lip and lower lip is still growing a decent amount of hair, and there are also a few patches along my chin that is growing hair. If I pluck the hair and it comes out pain free, it’s obvious that the hair was treated in that section. If it hurts to pluck, the spot was clearly missed.
Needless to say, there probably won’t be a need for me to update this post every week like I had been doing with the previous treatments. On the bright side, there has been a noticeable change in hair growth on my face. I used to shave my face two times a day and now I can get away without shaving for days. Even when I do need to shave, it’s only because of my upper/lower lips and a few patches of hair on my chin. The rest of my face is pretty smooth.
