Today I will be doing a review of Two Cosmetics “Two Cheeks” Blushes. The shades I have are Luxe and Runway. You get 3 grams of product (.10oz) and the products are made in the USA. Plus with every purchase made, Two Cosmetics will match that sale and donate products to a charity. As much as I love the concept, I do wish that Two Cosmetics actually put effort into becoming a larger brand. There are many companies out there that provide inexpensive products yet still offer an extensive variety of items to choose from. Two Cosmetics is very limited and therefore purchasing online with them isn’t even worth it. They have a decent fan base so it doesn’t make sense why they don’t try to expand. I would rather buy inexpensive items two at a time and make a donation basket myself.
Below is the color guide for the blushes on the Two Cosmetics website. Runway was spot on but Luxe’s online color was way off.
Buy it or Avoid it: Avoid it.
Pigmentation: Sheer but buildable.
Shades Available: 5.
The review: These blushes are simply okay. The thing I like about these blushes is that they have a light pigmentation. I prefer blushes that are forgiving as opposed to blushes that require a very light hand, such as Wet n’ Wild blushes. I like that it’s difficult to give myself too much color with these blushes. However, they are so sheer that I need to apply several layers of blush on before I get the desired color.
The downside to these blushes is that they are very powdery and they look ashy when applied to the skin. These definitely need to be applied to the cheeks BEFORE finishing off with a powder otherwise it will be very obvious that you have makeup on. Another thing I dislike is the consistency of the product. It applies smooth but the actual blush powder in the compact creates little “bumps” very easily on the surface. For the price and quality, I wouldn’t repurchase either of these blushes nor would I try any other shades. You can get two e.l.f, Jordana, Wet n’ Wild, Essence, and N.Y.C blushes for the price of one Two Cosmetics blush (which makes it very easy for you to support your local shelter if that’s your reasoning for buying Two Cosmetics products).
All of the swatches are done with a VERY heavy hand (4-6 swipes through the product)
