Hi guys! This post will be featuring my favorite items over the past two months. I didn’t make a favorite’s post last month so I will only include items that I have used almost every day since the beginning of October. You know these items have to be good if I’ve been faithful to them for over 60 days. I hope you enjoy!
Essence Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner – The formula for this product is amazing. This is the first waterproof eyeliner that I’ve tried that doesn’t end up smudging throughout the day. I also love that the eyeliner is pigmented. Plus this eyeliner dries nicely, unlike other waterproof liquid liners that tend to tighten when it dries. The only thing I don’t like is the applicator. As much as I love felt tip applicators, I hate that the tip is rounded and a bit fat rather than thin and sharp. I always have to draw my wings with a pen eyeliner and trace over it with the waterproof formula. The grumpy looking swatch was made with only one swipe of the brush. Hopefully you can get an idea of how pigmented this eyeliner is.
Chi Keratin Silk Infusion – I have fallen head over heels in love with the keratin infused Chi Silk Infusion serum. The scent reminds me a lot of Secret Charm by Victoria’s Secret. It’s fresh and sweet smelling in comparison to the original Silk Infusion which smells like cologne. The formula itself makes my skin and hair feel, well, like silk. This is a must have serum for everybody. My hair is the softest it has ever been in my entire life.
Up & Up Cocoa Butter Lotion – My lotion is actually a generic Target version of the Suave Cocoa Butter Lotion (which I also have). It smells nice, it moisturizes the skin, and it absorbs quickly. I use this product twice a day every day and I have noticed an improvement in the overall tone of my skin. I have been using this product for two months now and I love what it has done for my skin. I actually get regular compliments on my skin because it looks radiant now. I love it so much that I have completely switched to cocoa butter lotion. For those wondering, the Suave Cocoa Butter lotion and the Up & Up Cocoa Butter lotions aren’t the same. The Up & Up brand has a simpler ingredient list (cocoa butter and shea are the 5th and 6th ingredients on the list) and Suave has more fillers than it does actual cocoa butter and shea (cocoa butter ranks as the 14th ingredient and shea is second to last).
Satsuma Body Butter by The Body Shop – Body butters from The Body Shop are a must have for me because I have very dry feet. My feet are so dry that I slip easily on carpet. This satsuma body butter smells like orange soda and it makes my feet feel incredibly moisturized. I use this product every morning and every night before bed. The scent isn’t particularly important to me but the satsuma fragrance is the one that I have been using the most this month. I would like to point out that the satsuma body butter does have a different consistency than other body butters that I have tried (coconut, vanilla bliss, honey). The ones that I have tried are hard like solid butter but the satsuma body butter has the consistency of a body cream (the happy medium between lotion and body butter).
Biotin Supplements – I recently cut about 12 inches of hair off and I regretted my decision despite the fact that it needed to be done (my ends were VERY damaged and coarse to the point where it was actually scratching my skin). I wanted my hair to grow quickly but this time I wanted to maintain its health so I decided to give biotin a try. I’ve been using it for about 6 weeks now. I have noticed that my hair is growing quicker than normal (head, body, and face). I have also noticed my nails growing faster. My only complaint about this product is that I start to feel very nauseous shortly after taking these pills. Because of that, I take these supplements before bed.
Eyebrow Powder Duo – Unfortunately I do not know the brand of this powder duo because I bought it overseas on eBay. However, you an buy it from this seller (where I bought mine) or you can search for eyebrow powder, switch it to “buy now”, and organize it by lowest price. Although the colors look harsh and strange in the swatches, they come off more natural when applied. You can see from the swatches that the color changes from what it is in the pan. Instead of looking black and brown like in the pan and on the skin, the black becomes a dark brown and the chocolate brown shade becomes a medium taupe brown. I love that there is a dark color for bold days and a light color for natural days. The consistency of the powder is very nice as well. It has a slightly “wet” feeling to it which makes it SUPER silky, easy to apply, and is perfectly pigmented. The powder is a little patchy but in a good way. This makes the eyebrows look natural as opposed to being harshly drawn on. I highly recommend this duo to anybody who has stubborn eyebrows that are very uneven from one another and/or to people who dislike eyebrow pencils, tinted gels, and waxes.
e.l.f Essential Custom Compact – First thing that I love – THE BIG MIRROR. I would buy this compact if it were just the mirror alone. But it also comes with four slots for eyeshadow pans. It will fit just about any standard size eyeshadow pan, even M.A.C and Coastal Scents. In my compact, I have one shade from e.l.f called Coy (they don’t sell it in pan form anymore but they have that shade as an essential blush shade), one shade from Coastal Scents in Panama Rose, and two of them are custom pressed shadows that I made using various mineral shadows. The best part about this compact? It’s magnetic. Second best part? It’s only $1.00. Third best part? You can easily remove the holder for the pans and insert square shadows, long strip shadows, etc. You can depot your large palettes and insert plenty of your favorite shades into this compact.
