Hi guys! This post will be featuring my product favorites for the month of December. I started Christmas shopping in November and I ended up purchasing more products for myself than I did for other people, haha. I would browse stores with the intent of buying a gift for somebody else but then I ended up finding things that I liked. Because of that, there will be A LOT of products to show this month. I will even be including some clothing. For the clothing, I will be using store photos.
Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion by The Body Shop – I’m not particularly fond of the smell but I love the formula. Cacao seed butter is the second ingredient in this lotion while water is the first. Even though cocoa butter is the second ingredient in this lotion, it is fast absorbing and non-greasy. My favorite thing about this lotion is the fact that there is no mineral oil in the product. I’ve been able to use this product on my face as a moisturizer as well as all over my body. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks so I haven’t been able to notice any changes to my pigmentation but I hope to see changes over the next six months with continual use.
Surgi Hair Wax (Face Kit) – I actually used my wax kit up and that’s why it’s not featured in the picture. However, this product is AMAZING for those new to waxing. I have thick, coarse hair and this wax took the hair off easily. It’s great for waxing the brows and lip area. I will be going to Ulta very soon to pick up a few more.
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette – The makeup gods have answered my prayers! The Naked 3 palette has just about every shade that I use in a convenient palette. It has nice highlight shades, great all over the lid shades, nice transition shades, and dark shades to use for liner. This is my second favorite palette of all time.
Lorac Pro Palette – This palette is my all time favorite palette. I love the packaging, the price, the decent sized primer, and the selection of shadows. I love all of the shimmer shadows and most of the matte shadows. I especially love that there are two deep brown matte shades in this palette. Not only do I have great eye shadow colors in this palette but I also get great brow powder colors as well. Because this palette contains eyes and brows, this is my go to palette.
Stila Artful Eye Volume III Palette – I’ll be honest. I bought this palette because it was only $10.00 on Sephora’s website and I needed a $10.00 item to quality for free shipping. Let me tell you, I am VERY glad that I chose to buy this palette. The colors are very pretty, the packaging is sleek, and the quality is out of this world. I love the shimmery nude shade and the purple shade. The size of the shadows are very decent and I assume they are similar to the amount of product given in a MAC shadow. Even if I never touch the other 3 shades, I still consider it money well spent.
Cocoa Butter Lotion by Up & Up (Target brand) – I know this was featured last month but I’m still loving this product. I spent less than $3.00 on it and used it almost daily. But somehow I still have about 1/3 of the bottle left. This product has been a miracle product and it has only cost me about $1.00 per month to use. Thanks to this product, I have radiant skin with an even complexion.
Forbidden Vanilla Body Butter by Victoria’s Secret – I originally bought this because I was curious to see if it compared to The Body Shop’s body butters that I have raved so much about. I actually consider this to be a great alternative to The Body Shop and it is significantly cheaper. I used an entire tub up in less than one month and am halfway through a second tub. I went through The Body Shop’s body butters just as quickly when I used it on my entire body, but I didn’t want to spend $20 a month just on a body butter, so I wanted to find a cheaper alternative. VS definitely fits the bill a lot better and the fragrances are more appealing to me.
Sephora Makeup Remover – Honestly, this is a typical waterproof makeup remover but this is the one that I have been using the most and I love it. It does a great job at removing all of my stubborn waterproof eyeliner and mascara without burning my eyes or ruining my contact lenses. I think it’s a nice item to semi-splurge on (expensive for a makeup remover but not expensive for an item sold at Sephora).
Sephora Cotton Pads – This is another item I used as as a “filler” to reach the free shipping quota for Sephora online. It was fairly inexpensive and the cotton pads are VERY nice. They’re sealed around the edges so the cotton pad doesn’t fall apart which is great for scrubbing off glitter nail polish. I also like that the pads are soft and they don’t scratch the eyes line some cotton pads do. I have been using Ulta brand and Dollar Tree brand cotton pads for years because they’re inexpensive but I think I’ll be switching over to Sephora brand. It’s only $4.00 for a pack but the difference between brands is tremendous (value vs quality).
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Waterproof Mascara – The regular formula of this mascara is one of my favorite drugstore mascaras of all time. This month, I decided to try the waterproof version. I absolutely love it. It volumizes my lashes, lengthens them, and helps hold a nice curl. I think from now on, I’ll stop experimenting with brands and stick to Lash Stiletto at the drugstore.
Forever 21 Must Have Body-Con Dress – This is a mini dress that I have been wearing as a tunic shirt. The quality is VERY nice and the price is unbeatable ($5.80). This is one of the higher quality items at Forever 21. It also has an elegant gold zipper on the back. It’s great for keeping my butt warm in the winter and it is very form flattering. When the weather warms up, I can wear this dress as it was intended to be worn. I’m 5’4 and this dress is mid-thigh length on me. I’ve washed mine several times now and it has not shrunk or changed color.
Forever 21 Crisscross Body-Con Dress – This is another mini dress that I have been wearing as a tunic shirt. It’s very sexy, the material is thick, and the design is very cute. It enhances any body shape. I purchased mine for $9.00. The review is the same as the above. The major difference is the material. This particular dress is majority cotton so my underarms get balled up fabric after wearing for a while. I was surprised that my dresses didn’t shrink when I washed/dried them in the machine considering this is cotton.
Wet Seal Long Sleeve Striped Top & Baseball Top – These two items are in the new 2 for $15 line. I’ve purchased plenty of clothes from Wet Seal in the past and never really liked the long sleeves because they were really thin. However, this new line surprised me. The shirts have a decent length to them, they are soft, and they have a decent thickness. When I put these shirts on, the fabric didn’t become sheer after being stretched out on my skin. I haven’t had any issues with the clothes shrinking in the washer/dryer either, which is a major plus for me. The only thing I hate is the tag which I just snip right off.
