This new year has been off to a great start! I have not been purchasing as much as I used to and have finally been using up the products that have been sitting in my collection. It’s exciting for me to see products getting used up instead of having them laying around in the back of my vanity or storage drawers. It’s only one month into the year and I already have a lot of products to show you guys! With that being said, let’s get into the empty products.
The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash – This product is simply okay. I purchased 4 bottles of this face wash during a b2g2 free sale + groupon deal, and I really regret choosing all 4 items as the face wash. This face wash doesn’t clean well enough nor does it help keep my skin clean. I usually find a lot of makeup residue leftover on my skin when I use a toner after using this face wash. I won’t repurchase this face wash again.
The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion – This face lotion is really nice for oily skin. It’s not marketed as a mattifying lotion but it does a great job at controlling the shine. The only con is the lack of moisture given by this product. It feels about the same as splashing the face with water. This product is kind of a bummer though because it does nothing to clear my skin. I highly recommend this product to anybody with combo/oily skin.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation – This foundation is AMAZING for my oily skin. It’s medium to full coverage, long lasting, and it gives me a natural matte finish. I also feel like this foundation controls oil all day.
Bath & Body Works Forever Red EDP Mini – This is a mini fragrance but it’s still a fragrance that I have used up! Forever Red is a very bright, juicy, and sexy fragrance. I would definitely repurchase the full size when I reach my goal of using up 10 perfumes.
Suave Skin Solutions Cocoa Butter & Shea Lotion – I wasn’t too thrilled about this lotion when I first bought it because of the ingredients. Cocoa butter and shea rank very low on the ingredients list. It’s annoying for me because this is a COCOA BUTTER & SHEA lotion. I suppose it is my own fault though for assuming a cocoa butter lotion would be designed to even out the skin tone. It’s just a moisturizing lotion. Based off of the ingredient list, there isn’t enough cocoa butter or shea in this product to actually change my skin. However, the smell is FANTASTIC and so is the consistency. It’s light-weight and absorbs like water yet it leaves my skin feeling soft. I wouldn’t repurchase because I’m specifically looking for a high content cocoa butter lotion to even my skin tone and help fade stretch marks. But this is actually a great lotion overall. It’s especially a great formula for moisturizing the back because it absorbs quickly, so I don’t have to struggle for 10 minutes trying to rub in lotion.
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal – This hair serum is like magic for my hair. I have thick, curly, and frizzy hair. It’s not necessarily damaged or dry but it still needs something to help keep it soft, shiny, and tame. This product helped maintain the look of my hair and it’s a great product to use on days where I straighten my hair. It restores any moisture I may have lost when I straightened my hair. I would, and will repurchase this.
Bath & Body Works’ Coconut Vanilla Triple Moisture Body Cream – I don’t know what it is about this fragrance but I am in love with it. It’s not special nor is it a scent that I wear because I think others find it irresistible. It’s just a nice scent that I don’t seem to get sick of. It smells like pineapple, coconut, and vanilla. It doesn’t smell like a pina colada nor does it smell like suntan lotion. It just smells different for a coconut fragrance. The formula for this body cream is very nice as well and the scent lasts a really long time on my skin (I’m talking HOURS). This is my 4th tube of this body cream, I’m almost done with a 5th tube, and I have 7 more backups.
Pretty Nails All Nail Formula Extra Nourishing Polish Remover – It’s a nail polish remover. There isn’t much to say about it. It’s a generic brand that I probably found at a dollar store a long time ago and it served its purpose.
Bath & Body Works’ Vanilla Bean Noel Shower Gel – I really like the newest formula for Bath & Body Works shower gels but the scent doesn’t last as long as it used to with the previous formula. I don’t hate it, I don’t love it. But it’s still a great quality shower gel for a decent price (if used with coupons). It feels like a cream body wash but it’s a gel formula. I like it as much as I like Dove and Olay (as far as moisture goes) and the reason I choose this over those brands is because I can switch up my fragrance.
Victoria’s Secret Body Butter in Forbidden Vanilla – Surprisingly enough, the Victoria’s Secret body butters blew my mind. They have a weird consistency and they get used up quickly, but they moisturize very nicely. When the time comes for me to buy more body butter, I will definitely come back to Victoria’s Secret if The Body Shop doesn’t have a sale. It’s not that The Body Shop has better body butters but their business ethics are significantly better than VS, plus the ingredients are more wholesome.
