February’s Ipsy bag is SO STINKIN’ CUTE! It’s plain on the outside but has a leopard print on the inside. I really like simple bags that are a solid color. The inside is very chic and adorable; and it is very modern.
For the month of February, Ipsy created a bag that revolved around Valentine’s Day. The theme is “the look of love” and all of the products are very appropriate for this month’s glam bag. I’m loving how Ipsy is incorporating more skin care products into their bags but still keeps a great balance of cosmetic items. But I am bummed that I didn’t get any of the facial care products this month, LOL.
The past 3 months are the happiest that I have ever been with Ipsy after a year and a half of love/hate. I would highly recommend checking Ipsy out. If you’re interested in signing up, please sign up via my referral link and help me earn points.
Overall, I was pleased with my bag this month. It wasn’t my dream bag but it’s still a very nice variety of items. I was thrilled about the item variations this month. While they were seemingly unfair, the values were pretty much the same between items. I’m glad that this time around, bag values only differ by a couple of dollars. Some people were upset about receiving lashes while others received a 9-pan shadow palette but both items are $3.99 retail. Ipsy kept things fair this month and I hope they continue to do so.
The only thing that I wish Ipsy would do is allow subscribers to give answer questions about their top color choices for items, or at least ask them what colors they hope to never receive. If Ipsy could find a way to select the proper colors for people, then Ipsy would be the perfect subscription service.

Zoya Nail Polish in Odette
I’m VERY happy that I received Odette instead of Dot. I’m a bigger fan of purple shades so it was my preferred choice. I’ve already used it and it is very opaque with a single layer of polish. It also dries quickly which I love. Zoya polishes are definitely my favorite brand of polish to receive from Ipsy. Nail swatch from Pretty & Polished.
Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Fuchsia Freesia
I’m honestly getting really sick of seeing Pop Beauty in Ipsy. The quality for every single item has been so-so and I have a pretty strong opinion of Pop Beauty now. Like all of Pop Beauty, the packaging is super cute. However, I don’t like the small 4 shade color selection that this line has to offer. For a $16.00 gloss, I’d go with a brand that has a huge color selection and consistently produces high quality items such as MAC. After trying Pop Beauty out, I wasn’t impressed with the gloss. The rubber handle smells like marijuana and I CANNOT stand the scent. The scent of weed lingers on my fingers after holding the handle. Not cool. The gloss itself smells and tastes like melting plastic/rubber/gasoline + baby powder. YUCK. This was another Pop Beauty let-down for me. Swatches from BlushingNoir.
Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base in Spiced Rum
I was really excited to try this item because I thought there was a good chance that I wouldn’t get the shade “Spiced Rum”. Go figure, that’s the shade I got in my bag. I was really hoping for Violette and would have been okay with Ambrosia. But I absolutely hate brown shades of shadow, especially bronze shades. I prefer purples/maroons/pinks for main eyeshadow colors and bronze doesn’t go with any of my preferred shades. However, Ipsy did send colors that are ideal for daily wear for anybody. Props to Tini Beauty for sending Ipsy subbies flattering every day colors. Spiced Rum is a color that I can see complimenting colors from the Naked 1 palette.
I’m a huge fan of liquid/cream shadows and I expect Tini Beauty to be even better than what I already love. I’m going to try to swap this shade for Violette. The product itself is something I am SUPER excited about but the shade is a disappointment for me. Fortunately for me, Violette is the least popular color and it’ll be easy for me to get my hands on it.
EDIT: I managed to get my hands on Violette and decided to keep Spiced Rum. Spiced Rum is super pigmented, blends easily, and dries quickly without bothering my skin. Violette becomes sheer when blended out onto the lid and it also burns my eyelids a bit, but the sensation goes away as the product dries and I have not noticed any irritation. Both shadow tints are great overall and do not crease once they set. Both shades are best used if built up in thin layers or if used as a base.
J.Cat Beauty False Lashes
I’m shocked by the extreme amount of backlash that Ipsy has gotten for sending out false lashes. My natural lashes look like fake lashes and even I’m still able to get some use out of these lashes. I was very happy (and surprised) to see lashes that were longer than my own lashes but still had a natural appearance to them. I’ve received J.Cat lashes in a past Ipsy bag so I can already tell you that the quality of these lashes is VERY impressive. The glue is questionable but it still does the job. The band on these lashes look very natural and they offer a lot of natural looking lash designs. I, personally, cut each lash into half and wear them as demi lashes. Would I have preferred another item over false lashes? Yes. Am I upset that I got false lashes? Absolutely not.
Below is a photo of my older pair of J.Cat lashes (bottom) and the newer pair (top). I’ve used the old pair of lashes a couple of times before I decided that they weren’t going to work for me. You can see by the uncut lash that the lashes still look new. The demi lashes have been used about 10 times and they’re still usable. I’d estimate a good 15-20 uses from a single set of demi lashes, so that means about 30-40 uses from a single pair of lashes. Though to be honest, I have to give a lot of credit to my lash glue because it’s super easy to clean off.
Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Butter
This body butter is AMAZING. I used up almost half of the tube before I even got around to taking a photo for a review. The smell is fantastic, the ingredients are great, and it makes my skin feel ultra soft. My favorite thing is the price. While it’s not an inexpensive brand, it’s still better than The Body Shop’s price. Plus I like that the body butter comes in a squeeze tube. I’ve already looked online and am considering making a huge Pacifica order when I start to run low on body butters. I absolutely love this product. The only thing that I dislike is how quickly it gets used up, LOL! This is definitely my favorite sample from this months bag.
