Hello there! Today’s post will be all about my February favorites. Even though it was a short month, I discovered several new products and I think all of these will become a staple in my day-to-day routine. I have 5 favorites to show you and 4 of them are new items that I purchased in 2014. My favorite product would be the e.l.f Studio Complexion Brush. I switched from a powder puff to the brush and use about 1/4 of the powder I used to use. Can you imagine what a cake face I was without even realizing it!? Have you made any beauty mistakes that you didn’t realize you were making until you switched your product/method of application?
Pacifica Ruby Guava Body Butter
I got this bad boy as a sample in my ipsy bag this month. At first, I wasn’t too happy with receiving a body butter in my bag because I thought that The Body Shop’s body butters would be my lifelong holy grail product. But since I had the Pacifica body butter, I figured I’d use it. Man oh man, am I glad that I gave it a try. The formula is AMAZING and the product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. HECK YEAH! As much as I love what The Body Shop stands for, Pacifica makes my skin, nose, and wallet happier than The Body Shop ever has.
Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! This is an awesome oil-free moisturizer for the mornings. I haven’t had a single blemish after I started using this product. Well, except for when mother nature paid me her monthly visit. But even then, I only had 2 blemishes and they went away the next day. I also love how refreshing it feels on my skin. I completely forgot about my other moisturizers (Simple, Nourish Organics, The Body Shop) after I found this. I hardly have any of the other products left to use up but even knowing that, I still refuse to use the little amount of each product I have left because this Clean & Clear moisturizer works sooooo well for me.
Katy Perry’s Killer Queen Perfume
I fell in love with this perfume after I sampled it for the first time. It smells so sweet yet so sophisticated. It’s exactly the type of perfume I like. I loved this fragrance so much that I bought the full size bottle of this fragrance. I know I made a resolution not to buy anymore perfume unless I met a difficult requirement, but I justified this purchase. I’ll make an updated resolutions post sometime next week.
e.l.f Studio HD Lifting Concealer
I contemplated buying this concealer for a very long time because of the small shade range. The medium looked too light as an overall concealer but it looked like a good under eye brightening/highlighting concealer. Let me tell you – this concealer is the BEST concealer I have ever tried. It beats MAC, L’Oreal, Coastal Scents, and Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer. The color is quite light on my skin (NW35-40) when initially applied but it blends out flawlessly and doesn’t look like concealer anymore. I’ve been using this to brighten the under eye area as well as to cover up my melasma and other imperfections. I can build up the coverage and it still doesn’t look like I have makeup on, nor does it feel like I have makeup on. The coverage is great and this product also doubles as a great eyeshadow primer.
e.l.f Studio Complexion Brush
This brush has been sitting my collection for a long time but I never really used it until this month. I always thought it was too small for powder, too large for blush, and too flimsy for bronzer. But I started powdering my face with this and it has made a world of difference. I never realized how much I over-powdered my face until I started using this brush. I used to use a powder puff to set my makeup and I would apply a lot of powder thinking that it would control oil better. Nope. I’ve been using a very small amount of HD powder (about 1/4 of what I used with a puff) and it does the same job with less of a cake face.
