Hi guys! I wanted to make a quick post about a special that The Body Shop is having. If you buy a Cactus Heart Scrub for $5.00 online (plus s&h) or in-store, you get a strip of coupons for full sized items. You get one full sized item each week. You’re allowed to buy up to 2 Cactus Heart Scrubs in stores but only 1 if you buy online (you’d think it would be the other way around, right?). The Cactus Heart Scrub itself is an AMAZING exfoliating product. When I first purchased it, I thought it would be too rough for my skin. However, once the heart scrub is saturated with water and soap, it turns into a nicely textured scrub. I used it today and my body feels invigorated, clean, and refreshed. The size of the scrub is a little bigger than the palm of my hand. I like using it the most for my face.
If you buy the scrub online, you’ll get the free item each week but you’ll be obligated to pay the $5.95 shipping fee for each product, which still isn’t bad because it’s technically like getting products at clearance price with free shipping. If you buy in stores, all you have to do is redeem your coupon given with the Cactus Heart Scrub, no purchase necessary.
Week 1 is expected to be a full sized body butter. The fragrance is unknown. If they run out of a particular scent, they will be offering alternatives.
Week 1 is a full sized holiday body butter. The choices are: Vanilla Bliss, Cranberry Joy, or Ginger Sparkle. Since I bought two of the Cactus Heart Scrubs, I picked two of the Vanilla Bliss Body Butters since I disliked the other two a lot. Cranberry Joy is generic cranberry and Ginger Sparkle basically smells like ginger root and sugar. I don’t really like Vanilla Bliss but it’s my favorite of the bunch. It has a really light vanilla sugar fragrance. The fragrance surprisingly isn’t very noticeable in either of my body butters. The reviews online say that it’s supposed to be sickeningly sweet vanilla or (seemingly obvious) vanilla sugar.
Oh, also, my sales associate marked the bar code when I went to redeem my week 1 coupon. I guess the body butters can’t be exchanged for other fragrances. I also wasn’t allowed to pick any other fragrances aside from the holiday fragrances despite not liking any of them. Oh well. I’ll use them. The Body Shop’s body butters are the best and I use them because of the quality, not the fragrance (though I am happier when I like the fragrance).
Week 2 is expected to be a full sized body lotion.
Week 2 was indeed a full sized lotion. I originally wanted a mango lotion and a morgina lotion but my store was out of both, so I ended up getting two cocoa butter lotions. The lotions are really weird. It doesn’t match the typical cocoa butter scent and smells more like a generic body or face lotion from the drugstore despite cacao being the second ingredient.
Week 3 is expected to be a full sized shampoo or conditioner.
Week 3 was indeed a full sized shampoo or conditioner and my store was out of pretty much everything. I originally wanted the banana shampoo and conditioner set because I really like Avon’s Natural Banana & Coconut Milk line and I thought TBS’s version would be similar. However, I ended up with two Rainforest Balance Conditioners. I haven’t tried it yet so I don’t know if it truly does balance. But I will admit that I really disliked the smell. It smelled like plastic rain to me.
Week 4 is expected to be a full sized hand cream.
Week 4 was actually a mini size of the hand cream but it’s still a great item to try. While in the store, I got to try hemp, absinthe, and rose. I actually wanted almond the most but I’m not too disappointed that it was out of stock at the store. The hemp smelled terrible to me and so did the absinthe. The rose smelled alright but I dislike rose fragrances. But the rose is the one I ended up going with because I thought it was a fragrance that I could easily give away.
Body butters are $20.00 value.
Lotion is a $12.00 value and a body scrub is a $20.00 value.
Full size shampoo or conditioner is an $8.00-$10.00 value
A mini sized hand cream is valued at $10.00.
That’s A LOT of amazing products to try out basically for free.
